AWARENESS RAISING VOLUNTEERS

Working within your own local community our publicity volunteers help us promote the services provided by GWA and raise awareness of Domestic Abuse in the High Peak.  To VIEW our leaflet CLICK HERE

Our publicity team has two main aims:

  • To make sure that women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse know about the services offered by Glossop Women's Aid and feel able to come forward to seek help and advice.
  • To increase understanding of the effects that domestic abuse has on the lives of women and children and to challenge the myths about domestic abuse, helping people see it for what it is - a crime.

To help us achieve these aims our publicity team:

  • Help us at local events, eg carnivals, coffee monrings, fairs
  • Put up posters and leaflets in key places in their local community
  • Create publicity materials for displays
  • Send out mailings eg invitations to events, annual general meetings
  • Collect offered donations of gifts from local groups
